This appealing period building in Kensal Rise is not only a beautiful home, it is also a temple of peace and wellbeing. From the moment you tread on the original mosaic stone tiles in the hallway, you will fall under the spell of this spacious and welcoming abode.
The bohemian character of this house comes to the fore, above all, in the living room, where the squashy dark red sofa and the open fireplace will immediately make you feel at home. The warm, richly decorated and all wooden kitchen has a nostalgic flair, and its inviting, large dining table is ideal for social occasions with flatmates or friends. On the other hand, the garden room, with doors leading out to the sunny garden, lends itself to meditation or yoga, and is the perfect retreat for some introspective “me” time.
The two available bedrooms are bright, cosy and comfortable, with large sash windows, antique furniture and generous storage space. The large bedroom even includes a walk in wardrobe, whilst the small one features a decorative fireplace.
The Kensal Rise area is famous for its green spaces, its small shops, cafes and restaurants. It has become one of the most pleasant residential areas in North London over the last few years. Transport links are outstanding, thanks to both overground and underground trains nearby.
Maya, the live-in landlady, is a happy, chilled, alternative thinking quantum yoga practitioner. Maya is also a 60 year young rejuvenation specialist as well as an actress, often performing in professional improvisation with the cast of “Showstoppers” which has won major awards.
She is looking for exchange students or professionals who are respectful, considerate, tidy, independent and friendly. A good sense of humour is a must, and enjoying a fun and organic lifestyle a plus. An interest in alternative living is appreciated but not essential. Last but not least, it will have to be somebody enjoying the presence of Maya‘s two beautiful cats.
The small bedroom can be rented for £650 pcm including bills, and the large one for £850 pcm. Couples are welcome, and so are smokers, although smoking is limited to the garden.
