Making the World a Better Place in Shoreditch

Tucked away just behind Brick Lane, The Canvas Café is one of East London’s coziest haunts for community building and great vegan food. More than a regular coffee spot, The Canvas is dedicated to helping local residents make the world a better place.

The Canvas’s mouthwatering menu is going full vegan from January. Enjoy the delectable vegan full English, “tofish” and chips, vegan freakshakes and generous portions of fresh baked vegan cakes. New daily specials keep the menu fresh, exciting and always evolving to match your tastes.

Ruth Rogers started the Canvas after launching a charity dedicated to promoting body positivity called Body Gossip. She noticed that giving people a space to express themselves helped them foster a sense of belonging. The Canvas was built precisely to nurture this inclusive atmosphere by providing a place where anyone can convene and launch new ideas to help others.

Starting in the new year, you can expect late Friday Nights full of storytelling, cabaret, comedy or music until 1am. Host a meeting in the free event space to grow a social enterprise with volunteers or attend a public workshop on mindfulness, craftsmanship or writing.

The Canvas is also open to furry visitors. The Dog Creche for working professionals in Shoreditch is housed in the Canvas Community Hub through March 2018. Each 2 hour or half day booking for your dog  will result in a donation to The Canvas Pay-it Forward board to feed the homeless in Tower Hamlets.

Join The Canvas for the incredible food, and stay for the incredible people. The Café is open 7 days a week until 8pm on 42 Hanbury Street in the heart of Shoreditch.
